Our hero in the 2004 holiday classic hit, The Polar Express, remains unnamed throughout the entire film and is simply referred to as ‘Hero-boy’. This inspirational Christmas hit about a boy taking a magical train ride to the north pole is a journey about self-discovery and growth, a journey we can all take at some point in our lives. By not giving him a name, we can identify with him, see his problems and challenges as our own, and share in his victories. The boy's journey is one of hope, and his lack of a name symbolises the idea that anyone can find hope and faith in themselves if they’re brave enough to take a journey of self-discovery.
