We will be holding our popular annual steam gala on the 22nd & 23rd February 2014 with an intensive 3 train passenger timetable operating over the line from Froghall to Leekbrook and up the steeply graded Cauldon Lowe line to Ipstones Loop. The section of line from Leekbrook Junction to Ipstones Loop offers 5 miles of 1 in 40 – 1 in 59 gradients which is amongst the steepest of climbs on a heritage railways. The gala will feature the soon to be completed Ipstones run round loop. Use of this is subject to the final approvals.

Also expected to be in light steam following its restoration at Cheddleton will be TKH class locomotive No. 2944 Hotspur, this will be subject to completion of reassembly work.
Additional Attractions
Beyer Peacock No. 1827 will be on driver experience course at Cheddleton bay platform, tickets can be obtained from the Cheddleton booking office.
The locomotive workshops will be open during the weekend to view progress on the major overhaul of S160 No. 5197 along with the new machine shop and carriage shed.
Full catering facilities are available at Froghall and Cheddleton with light refreshments also available at Consall and on both Cauldon trains.
