We maybe late for national volunteering week, however at the Churnet Valley Railway every week is volunteering week !
The entire railway revolves around our volunteers, as put quite simply without them we cannot run trains. Whilst trains are the common factor that binds us with our collective interest, there’s so much more to volunteering than driving trains.
Volunteering is an opportunity to develop your passion – for some people their passion is what they do for a living, so why not put your skills to use for the benefit of the local community and the railway? For others their passion can be a missed opportunity – well those missed opportunities can be captured and borne out at the Railway.
We literally need volunteers with every aspect of our business – do you have an untapped skill in Public Relations? If so, why not make the most of it and be the author our of next press releases?
Have an interest in the world of computing, IP addressing and networking? Then come and join our data teams as they build and develop our in-house data network.
Is your forte customer services and meeting people? Then our station-based roles will give you the opportunity to meet and greet either in person or on the phone.
Compliance your thing? Then our RM3 Team is currently reviewing our ability to achieve excellence in controlling perceived health & safety risks – and you could be what’s missing in helping us achieve our targets. Indirectly these don’t are far from the major ‘train’ type roles, however without all of this going on in the background then we are unable to run trains.
If you are interested in any of the roles mentioned or have a skill you aren’t sure of where it’d fit in, please don’t hesitate and get in touch today.
Don’t worry if you can’t find an option that suits you, select ‘Unsure’ and one of our team will be in touch to help you discover that hidden role to make your own.
