About us

Churnet Valley Railway (1992) PLC is a small business in Leek, ST13. Our goal is to provide the best heritage dining experience in the heritage railway sector. We are the second largest tourist attraction in Staffordshire that operates a variety of heritage steam train services and attracts in the region of 80,000 passengers per annum. We pride ourselves on the experience we have provided for our customers since 1992 through our scenic locations, beautiful stations and variety of period coaches and locomotives. Our catering department is currently expanding and we are looking for someone to spearhead the growth of the business. You will be expected to source new ingredients, prepare for the week/ weekend ahead and work with the small but efficient team. Working with management you will work towards the goal of expanding the dining offering as well as improving the customer experience.

The hours available will vary as the season progresses. You will be paid a continual 25 hour a week wage over the year. In January and February you wont be required but you shall still receive the wage. Then in the busy periods (June- August) you maybe required up to 50 hours. At this time you will be paid the 25 hours and the previous unworked months will be used to balance the hours owed. This is a open conversation and we are open to ideas and thoughts. November - December again we will not require your time which is a ideal opportunity to get a second wage whilst still receiving your 25 hours a week from us. If there is a difference at the end of the year then this will be worked out between the employee and the Railway. This is an ideal position for someone looking for something different and the ability to move around whilst still receiving a salary.
