Wow – what a day! Yesterday, 92 of you joined us for our first-ever Heritage Open Day, making history as the very first passengers to buy tickets to travel to Leek and also travel on the Stoke line under Churnet Valley Railway ownership. It was a truly special moment, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start!
These events are extremely limited, with just 128 seats per day, and tickets are selling fast. Once they’re gone, that’s it for this year! If you want to be part of this unique experience, don’t wait too long.
What our passengers are saying:
- A great day out for the rail enthusiast - A great day out, a proper behind-the-scenes look at a heritage railway largely rebuilt and run by volunteers. ….a trip along three newly restored stretches of line (east chord, Leek station and a short bit of the Stoke line…., two photo run pasts from the trackside, and a tour round the loco and carriage works.
- Heritage event - Well organised and informative trip on the first public trip to Leek and the north to east curve. Good breakfast service and excellent talk from the railway's staff about the background to getting the extension done. Really pleased to be allowed (supervised) on the lineside for runpasts and guided around the workshops and yard.
- Our first public run to Leek.- Our first public run to Leek and behind the scenes experience. Well exceeded all expectations. Run to perfection and the catering was superb. Well done to the team and thankyou for a most enjoyable and memorable day out.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of history – book your tickets now and experience the magic for yourself!
