PAA WBB 30025
The North Staffordshire Railway Company (1978) Ltd (Support charity of the Churnet Valley Railway), are proud to announce the acquisition of a “PAA” Covered Sand hopper wagon no. WBB30025. This type of wagon was the last to carry sand from Oakamoor in 1988 when the traffic ceased to go by rail. The North Staffordshire Railway Company are pleased to have saved this wagon from the scrap yard for preservation and it is intended to be displayed as part of an exhibition to show the passage of sand along the Churnet Valley line. It is hoped in the near future to return the wagon to its former identity of BIS 7954 in the original British Industrial Sand colour scheme.
