Hop aboard the Easter Eggpress this Easter, as it steams through the scenic Churnet Valley in Staffordshire.
During the Easter Weekend, children of all ages can experience something new and egg-citing whilst travelling on the heritage train – Easter Egg Spotting! Can you spot all the eggs viewable on your journey, and complete the Family Fun Form?
Collect your Form from either of our booking offices free of charge, and then keep an eye out for all the eggs sat along the lineside. Once your journey is complete you can then exchange your completed forms for a chocolaty Easter Egg to take home. Also keep an eye out onboard, as you may just see an "Eggstra" special passenger joining your train to say hello!
Mrs Shelia Martin says "I have volunteered on the Churnet Valley Railway for six years, and I love helping with these sort of events and seeing the children go home with big smiles on their faces."
2017 sees the Churnet Valley Railway celebrate its 25th Anniversary since first forming. The railway operates public services on weekends from February to October, and Wednesdays during school holidays and the summer. The first Easter Eggspress departs Cheddleton at 11:17 on Easter Saturday, and will run until 15:30 on both Saturday and Sunday. Services will also be in operation on Easter Monday and Wednesday 19th as part of the school holidays.
For those of you looking for a more relaxing journey, then why not join us aboard our "Moorlander" Dining Train that will be in service throughout the holidays offering either a 4-course Lunch with full waitress service or a delicious Cream Tea? Tickets must be pre-booked for these services, and with a limited number of seats on both dates you'll need to be quick to ensure you don't miss out. Phone 01538 360522 for further details.
