We are pleased to announce that our first guest steam locomotive for 2024 has arrived this week, British Railways Standard 4 No. 75014 "Braveheart" is on a 4 month visit to the Churnet Valley Railway courtesy of our friends at the Dartmouth Steam Railway.
Director, Chris Meadowcroft commented "it is most exciting to have a locomotive that used to be based at the nearby Stoke Engine Shed return to work along the line that it no doubt worked over between 1963 and 1964"
75014 is currently being prepared for service and subject to availability will operate our first services of the year on the 3rd and 4th of February between Froghall Station and Ipstones Loop.
