Despite the best endeavours of the CVR Board of Directors to negotiate an acceptable contract with the owning group of Hunslet no. 3777 (68030), they themselves have declined to proceed with the signed heads of terms from last summer.
As such the locomotive has now left the Churnet Valley once again for pastures new, and has moved on to the Llangollen Railway. Despite this disappointment, everyone at the CVR wishes the group well with the restoration of what was the very first steam locomotive to arrive at the embryonic Churnet Valley Railway in 1977. It is hoped that the locomotive could still visit the CVR once it regains its operational status.
At the same time, following the locomotive's advertisement for sale before Christmas, Class 04 D2334 has now been sold and moved to the Mid-Norfolk Railway.
