Getting Here:
We highly recommend visiting us with your own private transport, such as a car or motorbike, as bus services may not provide regular access.
Let us guide you through our enchanting stations:
Froghall Station:
Embark on your journey through the magical English countryside from Froghall Station. The adventure lasts just over two hours when you start and finish at Froghall.
Before you board, indulge in a delightful experience at our traditional Signals Tea Room. Savor freshly brewed coffee, tea, scrumptious cakes, or homemade lunches. Don't miss out on these treats! Our tearoom warmly welcomes all guests, offering wheelchair accessibility and a child-friendly atmosphere. Whether it's a sunny day or a chilly one, you can hydrate with a freshly baked scone or cozy up by the open fire with hot chocolate. Adjacent to the Tea Room, you'll find our souvenir shop, where you can acquire memorable items for yourself or as gifts for loved ones.
Froghall Station, resembling the old North Staffordshire Railway station, is nestled within the picturesque Staffordshire Moorlands, close to the serene Froghall Wharf. It's the perfect starting point for your locomotive journey. The station provides limited disabled parking, a convenient drop-off zone, a car park, and essential amenities, including toilets and baby changing facilities.
Consall Station:
Consall Station is a haven to experience the breathtaking English countryside, accessible only by rail, making it even more secluded and special. Explore numerous country walks in the area, including a scenic route that connects Consall to Cheddleton via the Cauldon Canal and River Churnet. Picture setting up a picnic in this splendid countryside on a sunny day, followed by a leisurely stroll through nature.
Cheddleton Station:
Hop off at Cheddleton Station, the sole original station along the Churnet Valley Railway. This Victorian-era Grade II listed building, situated by the banks of the River Churnet, offers convenient amenities such as toilets and baby changing facilities.
Visit our locomotive sheds, where our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to keep the trains running smoothly. Our volunteers are always ready to answer your questions and demonstrate the upkeep of our engines. Please note that the sheds may not be accessible during welding work to ensure guest safety.
Take a scenic walk along the canal paths to discover St Edward's Church and Cheddleton Flint Mill, adding more depth to your exploration.
Leekbrook Station:
The most recently refurbished station on our route, Leekbrook Station, opened its doors to the public in 2018. Located on the vintage site of the original building, it offers a small countryside building and toilet facilities. This station will be closed during 2024.
We look forward to welcoming you aboard our heritage train services as you embark on a journey through time and picturesque landscapes.
